App Due: July 15, 2007 Southwestern Youth Association would like to invite your team to the 2007 edition of the SYA Cardinal Cup Soccer Tournament, which brings hundreds of talented teams from across the region to our area. We are proud of the growth of this annual tournament which started in 2004 with 70 teams and grew to 137 accepted teams in 2006. We have welcomed teams from throughout the region, as well as hosting teams from our friends to the north, Canada. We offer competition levels for all, but are extremely proud of our Elite Divisions, which have hosted many top State Cup and Regional competitors, including several from our own club, SYA. Our top level competition has earned us a GOTSoccer Silver Ranking and designation as one of the top five tournaments in Virginia in only our fourth year. The Cardinal Cup offers divisions for U9-U19 Men’s and Women’s age groups and will be played on natural grass and turf fields in the Centreville/Clifton, Virginia area. We also offer the unique "Ready for Fall" U9 Division, which allows new U9 teams to play some games, without the pressure of winning the trophy. For those of you who come to this tournament every year welcome back! And for those considering their 1st trip to our tournament, we promise you will have outstanding competition and a very well run event. Our seasoned tournament staff plans, works and meets at least monthly to insure the success of this project. We hope you consider joining us and using this opportunity to "tune-up" your teams for fall state cup and league play. After three very successful years, we are ready to put on the best tournament yet. We have worked very hard to make this a quality tournament for all our teams. We anticipate limiting the number of teams so that we can provide a quality environment for each and every team, so do not delay your team’s registration. We do hope your team will join us in August.
