FROM THE WEST Take Route 78 East to exit 45-Glenside Avenue. At end of ramp, turn left onto Glenside Ave and cross over Rt. 78. Entrance to fields is 2/10th mile ahead on right. --- You will only see the back of a sign that says "Welcome to Watchung Reservation" - - - but nothing is on side you see as you approach the drive. If parking lot is full, drop off your kids, and park on Glenside Ave, eastbound side only. FROM THE EAST Take Route 78 West to Rt. 24 West (towards Morristown). Take 1st exit (Exit 9A reading "Millburn, Springfield, Summit"). Bear right at end of ramp (traffic light) onto Broad St. At next traffic light (Exxon Station on left corner) turn left onto Ashwood Ave, and immediately turn right at the next light onto Morris Ave. Start up the hill and turn left at light (see signs for Rt 22 & Rt 78 West) onto Glenside Ave. Road splits just right after the turn - bear right onto Glenside Ave. (see sign for Rt 78W) Field is approximately 3/4 mile on the left (see “Welcome to Watchung Reservation” at top of driveway). Pull into the lot. If you cross Rt 78 overpass, you have gone too far. If parking lot is full, drop off your kids, and park on Glenside Ave-eastbound side only. FROM THE NORTH Take Route 287 South to Rt. 24 East (towards Springfield). Take Exit 9A (reading "Broad St., Summit"). Go to the stop sign at the end of the ramp; go straight. At the light, turn right onto Broad St. Go up moderate hill; continue thru blinking yellow light. Continue as in directions FROM THE EAST. FROM THE SOUTH Take Route 287 North to Route 78 East. Continue as in directions FROM THE WEST. OR Take the Garden State Parkway North or New Jersey Turnpike North to Route 78 West. (Note that if you take the GS Parkway north to Route 78, there is no exit directly onto Route 78 West. You will have to take Route 78 East for about a half mile to the first exit, and then get back on Route 78 West.) Continue as in directions FROM THE EAST.
