MCYSA Summer Select Program - Participation Agreement

2008 Information

As a member of the MCYSA you have the opportunity to join the Summer Select soccer program. Out of respect to all players trying out for the summer 2008 teams, it is necessary for players and their families to agree that by trying out for Select, if they are fortunate to be chosen for the MCYSA Select teams, they will fulfill their commitment to the program. As a soccer parent or player you understand the value of team commitment.

Since this program is designed to give good soccer players the opportunity to play excellent summer soccer with other quality players against teams from all over the North East, we have the tough task of choosing the best players for each age group and letting some kids down who may not make the teams. Some players will naturally be disappointed if they are not selected. This is very hard on children age 10 to 14 and we strive each year to be honest, objective and forth right in our dealings with everyone. We ask that you do the same.

The time commitment is significant, but the experience has its rewards. The first Select tournament is the weekend of June 21 & 22 and the last tournament is July 19 & 20. There are two Sunday evening practice dates (TBA) that overlap with the MCYSA league season -- each family MUST fulfill their MCYSA team commitment first prior to participating in Select practices. All participants are expected to attend weekly practices (2-3/week) and the 4 tournaments listed below. We strongly request that players be available for every tournament and that this commitment be made to your team mates and out of respect to the children that wanted so badly to participate and were not selected.
